how to control the camera for with Manual
Mode, Shutter
Priority AE Mode, Aperture
Priority AE Mode, and Programmed
AE Mode
You might well wonder when it is best to use which mode.
Basically, it depends upon what you want your photograph to
portray.
Using Manual
Mode to control camera, you adjust the shutter
speed and aperture control until the camera meter indicates
that you have chosen setting that will provide proper
exposure.
Shutter speeds are most effectively used to freeze or
emphasize movement. The Shutter
Priority AE Mode is applicable to most photographic
situations.
Aperture
Priority AE Mode is most applicable to still photography
such as portraiture and landscape photography in which depth
of field is an important factor. Some of the best creative
commercial and architectural photographs are taken in the
Aperture Priority AE Mode.
Programmed
AE Mode is the most easiest way to handle a SLR camera,
just point, focus (Manual Focus)
and shoot.
This, however, does not apply to such fields of photography
as close-ups and microphotography for which you should refer
to the section entitled STOPPED-DOWN.
