1988, Nikon introduction the Nikon F4 in two different model, the F4s for US, and the F4 for Europe and the rest of the world. In 1991, Nikon release a new Power pack, MB-23, to replace the MB-20, from F4. made it become F4E model, no matter what the combination of a body and a power pack, F4 body still is an F4, with all the same function and features.

 Famous for its reliable performance, the F4s starts with a solid aluminium alloy, die-cast body. The bridge and hollow-wall design offers superb strength, rigidity and protection from corrosion. The mounting section of the interchangable finder and handgrip have also been die-cast for maximum strength. In case of an accident, the rubber compound exterior covering of the F4s literally transform itself to absorb shock, then instantly regains its original shape. With this design, less chance of external or internal dammage to the camera.
